Strength training workshop for runners - prevent injuries and run with ease (Vauhtisammakko event)

Goal
After the course, each participant will be able to:
- Understand basic strength training concepts;
- Know how to use strength training to support their running practice; and
- Participate in a full body workout.
Who is this course for
This workshop is for runners with any experience who would like to learn more about strength training and understand how to train safely specifically to support their running practice.
The course is conducted in English, so participants must have a good command of spoken English.
Content
During the workshop, all participants will learn why strength training is important for running and what are the key concepts to understand when training strength. They will undergo a panel of strength tests to assess their current condition and will experience a full routine tailored to those needs. This routine includes strength training with different techniques and methods. A segment will be dedicated to do a full body workout.

- 17h45: Door opens.
- 18h00: Beginning of the workshop.
- 18h05 - 18h30: Brief presentation on key points about strength training for runners.
- 13h30 - 14h15: Assessment of main joints and experience a strength training routine accordingly.
- 14h15 - 14h45: Functional training session
- 14h45: Conclusion
