Mobility workshop - prevent injuries and treat painful joints

Goal

After the course, each participant will be able to:
- Understand basic mobility concepts;
- Know how to mobilize and strengthen 3 major joints of the body (upper back, shoulders and hips); and
- Participate in a mobility routine for the whole body.

Who is this course for

This workshop is primarily aimed at all sport and fitness enthusiasts over the age of 18 who are motivated to learn more on how to move their body efficiently and how to use that mobility in their everyday life. This workshop is for people who are interested in prevention and longevity of their joints. It doesn’t teach how to cure specific medical conditions.

The course is conducted in English, so participants must have a good command of spoken English.

Content

During the workshop, all participants will learn why mobility is important and what are the key concepts to understand when training mobility. They will undergo a panel of mobility tests to assess their current conditions and will experience a mobility routine tailored to those needs. This routine includes stretching, corrective exercises, active mobility movement, and myofascial release exercises. A segment will be dedicated to a full body mobility routine.

Schedule

- 12h45: Door opens.

- 13h00: Beginning of the workshop.

- 13h05 - 13h30: Brief presentation on main joints and their biomechanics.

- 13h30 - 14h15: Assessment of main joints and experience a mobility routines and exercises according to their tests results.

- 14h15 - 14h45: Functional Mobility Routine.

- 14h45: Last words and possibility of experiencing manual therapy.
